Early Friday, Oncor Electric Delivery reported thousands of its customers were without power across the DFW area. In its online outage map, Oncor said the outages were due to frequent lightning and hail and crews are working to restore power to those who have been impacted.
According to Oncor, the number of customers experiencing outages is as follows as of 3 a.m.

In addition to the hail threat, heavy rain was widespread overnight. By 2:25 a.m., rainfall amounts of 2.5 inches had already fallen with another 1-3 inches possible.
The majority of Friday will be dry. Additional showers and thunderstorms are once again possible this weekend.
