There is a chance of severe weather across North Texas on Thursday as a storm system moves in from the west.
As a dryline surges into the area, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop by Thursday morning. The prime time for strong storms in DFW will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
DFW is under a Marginal (Level 1) risk for severe storms. That threat increases to Slight (Level 2) for areas east and southeast of Dallas.

The primary threats are lightning, heavy rainfall, wind gusts to 60 mph, and hail up to the size of quarters. Tornadoes can’t be completely ruled out in east Texas, but the threat is low.
The severe weather threat should end by late afternoon for most of the area as a cold front swings into the area. But some wrap-around showers are possible into the early evening.
