Another round of rain and storms arrive today across North Texas, with the potential for some of the storms to turn severe.
As a dryline surges into the area, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop thru the morning hours. The prime time for strong storms in DFW will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
DFW is under a Marginal (Level 1) risk for severe storms. That threat increases to Slight (Level 2) for areas east and southeast of Dallas.

The primary threats are lightning, heavy rain, wind gusts to 60 mph, and hail up to the size of quarters. Tornadoes can’t be completely ruled out in east Texas, but the threat is low.
The severe weather threat should end by late afternoon for most of the area as a cold front swings into the area. But some wrap-around showers are possible into the early evening.
