North Texas will experience rain and T-storms through Saturday. NBC 5’s Chief Meteorologist Rick Mitchell has the latest forecast.

North Texas will be in a rather active weather pattern for rain and thunderstorms over the next few days. There will be periods of strong to severe thunderstorms along with times of heavy rainfall. There will also be some times of dry weather.

Tonight will be cloudy with rain chances increasing overnight. Scattered showers and storms will develop. The strongest storms will be capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts. Not everyone will have a severe storm.

Rain chances continue into Friday and Saturday. While there will likely be some dry hours Friday, the chance of showers and storms will remain throughout the day. Severe storms are possible Friday afternoon especially for areas east of DFW. All modes of severe weather will be possible across East Texas Friday afternoon and evening. Be weather aware if you plan on being in East Texas.

Widespread rain and a few thunderstorms are likely Friday night into Saturday. The rain will be heavy at times and some flooding is possible. The rain will diminish by early afternoon on Saturday, but it will be breezy and quite cool.

Drier and cooler weather will return by Sunday. Next week looks dry and pleasant with temperatures gradually returning to the 70s and 80s.
