A strong fall cold front is heading this way! Before it arrives, however, it will be quite warm today. Afternoon highs will surge into the 90s once more under sunny skies. The cold front will begin to push into North Texas during the afternoon. While temperatures won't be noticeably cooler until tonight, the front will immediately shift the wind to the north. It will become rather breezy by evening.
The full effect of the cooler air will be felt by Wednesday morning. In fact, it will be downright chilly with low temperatures dropping into the low 50s and even 40s for some! Wednesday's high will remain in the 60s during the afternoon, offering a definitive fall feeling.
Thursday will start off quite chilly with lows in the 40s. Temperatures will rebound nicely into the 70s. A gradual warming trend can be expected toward the weekend with highs returning to the lower 80s.
With no immediate rain chances on the horizon, the fire danger will be elevated to high this week. The combination of low humidity, dry conditions, and breezy weather could quickly spark grass-fires.
