A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until noon Friday as winter weather pushes into the area. While it begins as a rain/sleet/snow mix, snow will overspread much of North Texas through the day and continue tonight. The snow will begin to accumulate tonight, when snow may be heavy at times.
Two to four inches is possible for DFW with higher amounts likely farther north-northeast. Some locations may receive more than six inches of snow (especially farther north). Travel will likely become slick and hazardous as road conditions deteriorate through the day. Meanwhile, farther south of DFW, roads will likely fare much better.
The snow will end early Friday morning. The weekend will be dry and a bit warmer with highs in the 40s.
