Much needed rainfall chances continue for North Texas

Another storm system is spreading in cloudy skies with spotty rain chances into Friday morning. A few heavy thunderstorms may develop, but these will mainly be limited to areas to the west of DFW.

A better chance of widespread showers and thunderstorms arrives by Friday afternoon as a Pacific cold front moves into North Texas.

While the severe threat is low, there could be some gusty winds and small hail with the stronger storms. (The area is under a LEVEL 1 (Marginal Risk) for severe thunderstorms). Rain totals could exceed 1 inch in DFW and could be over 2 inches farther west.

The weekend is looking nice with sunshine. Highs will hold in the upper-60s to lower-70s. Lows will fall into the upper-40s to mid-50s.
