A welcome weather change has arrived! A cold front brought some much needed rain to North Texas and cooler temperatures! Rain has tapered off this evening and will stay far south through tomorrow morning.
Today will offer a chance of showers to the south of DFW, mainly this morning. Sunshine is expected elsewhere with high temperatures into the mid to upper 80s. Slightly lower humidity will help make it more comfortable.
Our focus shifts to the north late tonight and early Wednesday as our next disturbance moves in with a chance of thunderstorms. Some brief heavy rain and lightning is possible around sunrise Wednesday. Otherwise, it should be a nice outdoor day Wednesday with sunshine and pleasant conditions in the afternoon.
The weather for the State Fair looks seasonably cooler with some cloud cover. Highs will be in the 80s.
We're monitoring soon-to-be Hurricane Helene as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico. Currently, there are no direct impacts expected for North Texas, but a few showers may occur to the east from the remnants of the storm on Friday.
