A Winter Storm Watch has been posted for the impending winter weather that's expected to move in Thursday. While it may begin as a rain/sleet/snow mix, snow will overspread much of North Texas through the day and continue Thursday night. The snow may be heavy at times. Two to five inches is possible. Some locations may receive more than five inches of snow (especially farther north). Travel will likely become slick and hazardous.

The snow will end early Friday morning. The weekend will be dry and a bit warmer with highs in the 40s.
