It’s been a quiet but chilly start to 2025 in terms of weather. That trend will continue for the next few days with chilly mornings and seasonably cool afternoons with highs around 60.
After a chilly start to the New Year on Wednesday (high of 50), today will be milder as afternoon temperatures climb to near 60. It will be a sunny day all across North Texas with a light south wind.
Milder conditions will make a brief comeback for the next few days with highs in the low 60s toward the weekend. Dry weather can be expected through Saturday, but clouds will be on the increase.
A big weather change is looming on the horizon for Sunday. This weather change will be in the form of a strong cold front. In fact, temperatures will likely start in the 60s early Sunday, and drop into the 40s by afternoon. There's a brief chance of a shower or thunderstorm early Sunday. Higher chances will be in far East Texas.
Once the cold air arrives Sunday afternoon, it will stick around for several days. Highs are only expected to be in the 40s for Monday and most of next week. Low temperatures next week will be in the mid to upper 20s. This will be the coldest air of the season so far.
