The weather pattern shifts from warm and windy to seasonably cool and wet for the next coming days. Strong to severe storms arrive late tonight as a cold front moves in.
The window for the best chance of storms will be between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. Some storms may be severe, with hail and strong wind gusts. The tornado threat is low but not zero.
The cold front and the storms will move east of DFW by daybreak Thursday, leaving us with increasing sunshine and a nice drop in temperatures. Expect a high temperature of 75 degrees on Halloween, with trick-or-treat temperatures falling into the 60s under clear skies.
Dry weather will extend into Friday before another chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives Saturday. In fact, Saturday's rain could be quite heavy later in the day. The unsettled pattern will continue into early next week.
