Showers and thunderstorms moved through North Texas Monday morning, knocking out power to thousands.
At its peak, Oncor reported more than 40,000 outages. By noon, that number had dropped below 30,000 as crews worked to restore power.
The main threat from the storms were damaging wind gusts. Expect decreasing clouds into the afternoon.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for western North Texas until 6 p.m. Winds could gust up to 40 mph. Please secure your outdoor equipment and use caution when traveling.

A stronger cold front will push into the area by Tuesday night. This frontal boundary will drop morning lows into the 30s and 40s.
