The USGS says a magnitude 7.3 earthquake has struck just off the coast of Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean.

People in Northern California shared footage of the 7.0 Magnitude earthquake that rattled the state Thursday.

The tsunami warning launched by NOAA following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake off the coast of California has been canceled.

Dave Snider, Tsunami Warning Coordinator at NOAA, said a destructive tsunami is not likely to occur following a magnitude 7.0 earthquake off the coast of California.

Several earthquakes struck Northern California Thursday, including a preliminary magnitude-7.0 offshore in the Pacific Ocean at 10:44 a.m. PT that triggered a tsunami warning along coastal areas from Santa Cruz into Oregon.

Seismic activity that started in West Texas Monday was felt across the state including in North Texas. The good news is there are no reports of injuries or major damage. NBC 5 Meteorologist Ryann Jones takes a closer look at what caused the ground to shake.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck near Midland in West Texas on Monday and was reportedly felt in parts of North Texas.

An earthquake centered in the Malibu area with a preliminary magnitude of 5.1 rattled parts of Southern California early Thursday.

A preliminary 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the east coast of Taiwan Thursday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Many parts of Southern California felt shaking Monday afternoon as a preliminary 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook the Highland Park area.
