DFW National Cemetery

As Veteran’s Day approaches, there’s another way to honor those who served our country to ensure our freedom — donating a wreath to be placed at the gravestones at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Wreaths Across America says it needs volunteers to help pick up the more than 52,500 wreaths.

Once again, North Texas has made sure there will be no shortage of wreaths to lay in front of every headstone at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery over the 2023 holiday season.

The beloved annual ‘Wreaths Across America,’ which honors military veterans nationwide, is running out of time in North Texas. With Tuesday night’s deadline quickly approaching, the local effort at DFW National Cemetary is still short of its goal by several thousand wreaths. NBC 5’s Maria Guerrero has the public plea.

Each year, the public is encouraged to purchase at least one $17 wreath to ensure all servicemembers laid to rest will receive the special wreath for the holiday season.

Volunteers have spent the last few days preparing the cemetery and beautifying the space for families to visit today.
