Gavin Grahovac homered to begin the game, Texas A&M broke it open with a five-run third inning and the Aggies moved within a win of their first national title in baseball with a 9-5 victory over Tennessee in the College World Series finals opener.

Texas A&M is going to play for a national championship in baseball for the first time in its program’s 130-year history.

LSU cranked up its offense a day after it gave up the most runs ever in a College World Series game and won its first national title since 2009 with a 18-4 victory over Florida in the third and deciding game of the finals.

Cade Kurland’s ninth-inning infield single drove in the tiebreaking run, and Florida claimed a spot in the College World Series finals with a 3-2 victory over TCU on Wednesday.

TCU used a four-run fifth inning to take control of the game and went on to beat Oral Roberts 6-1 in a College World Series elimination game Tuesday, ending the Golden Eagles’ surprising postseason run.

Blaze Brothers hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the ninth inning after an Oral Roberts pitching meltdown in the eighth, and the Golden Eagles continued their surprising postseason run with a 6-5 victory over TCU on Friday in the opening game of the College World Series.
