The giving season has begun! NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 are excited to partner with The Salvation Army Angel Tree giving program. Now through December 7, North Texans are encouraged to be a part of this holiday tradition that ensures that tens of thousands of children, seniors, and adults with special needs have the opportunity for a fantastic holiday season….

The Salvation Army of North Texas is rushing to making sure every Angel Tree client receives their gifts in time. One week until Christmas, NBC 5’s Katy Blakey reports NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 spent the day making sure that happens.

This is a busy week at the Salvation Army. Every 15 minutes, 25 families pick up their Angel Tree gifts. There is an army of volunteers curbside, and in the warehouse, helping make that happen.

The holiday spirit is alive and well at North Texas Salvation Army warehouses. Angel Tree families are picking up the gifts many of you so generously donated. Noelle Walker was there to see how it all comes together to make the holidays bright.

There is a mountain of new toys, games and clothes at the Salvation Army warehouse that will go to Angel Tree recipients soon. But first, an army of volunteers is sorting through it all to get ready.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree program is still pushing for 3,000 angels to be adopted by 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The deadline for Salvation Army Angel Tree adoptions and drop-offs has been extended. That means there’s still time to give the gift of caring. Noelle Walker has the story.

There are still thousands of ‘Forgotten Angels’ to be adopted, so the Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign has been extended until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5.
