Northbound I-35W at FM 2449 reopens after deadly crash in Denton

A major stretch of I-35W near UNT’s campus remains shut down after a deadly crash involving multiple vehicles and an RV. One person is confirmed dead and several others have been hospitalized. NBC 5’s Allie Spillyards reports from the scene.

On Tuesday, a deadly crash involving multiple vehicles shut down Interstate 35W in Denton County.

The Denton Fire Department said it sent four ambulances to the scene of the crash involving an RV and at least four other vehicles on the Hickory Creek bridge.

The Denton Police Department said seven people were taken to the hospital and one person was declared dead on arrival.

Northbound I-35W was closed at Farm-to-Market Road 2449, also known as Vintage Boulevard, but as of Tuesday night, Denton police said the roads have been cleared and I-35 is back open.
