Victimized Cowboys Fan Gets a Pleasant Surprise

Friends, autograph collectors and Dallas Cowboys help replace a fan's stolen memorabilia.

A mentally disabled man was all smiles when he saw a table of Dallas Cowboys keepsakes after becoming distraught last week when thieves stole some of his possessions -- including his prized Cowboys memorabilia.

Thieves had stolen several hundred dollars worth of items from 53-year-old Butch Franklin's apartment in Addison, a Dallas suburb.

Some friends, autograph collectors and Dallas Cowboys helped replace some of the missing possessions, including the back of a Texas Stadium seat, signed by a few Cowboys, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Franklin on Monday also met linebacker Bradie James and offensive lineman Cory Procter, who said Franklin had had a "rough deal." Procter told Franklin he was sorry.

Franklin asked Procter if he would have a "good season?" Procter answered: "Yeah, heck yeah."
