The Sporting News created a panel of 118 people, among them, stars, coaches and students from all games to rank the best and brightest.

Tops on the list is legendary UCLA basketball coach John Wooden.
Landry finished in the top twenty because of his winning ways and innovations. He created the "flex" defense" and "mulitple offense" in addition to perfecting the shotgun formation. Coach Landry won 2 Super Bowls and 5 NFC titles.
He led Dallas to an NFL record 20 consecutive winning seasons. Coach Landry's 270 wins rank third all-time behind George Halas and Don Shula.
