The biggest name on Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics this summer is still Texan Simone Biles.

While competing in Rio in 2016, the then-20-year-old dominated the gymnastics competition, winning more gold Olympics medals than any American woman in history. She returned to training in 2017, ruling all events in the U.S. Gymnastics Championships. Biles performed moves that are so uniquely difficult that they are being named after her -- the triple-double is now called the Biles II.

The expectations were high for Tokyo and in a shocking turn of events, Biles withdrew from team competition on July 27 due to a medical issue, according to a statement from USA Gymnastics. The organization said she will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions. Bilesโ€™ coach wrote to NBC after Bilesโ€™ exit, โ€œPhysically she is fine. But she is done for the night.โ€

As of right now, Biles is still set to compete in two overall competitions: uneven bars and the floor routine.
