On the day pop star Justin Bieber was arrested for allegedly racing and driving under the influence in Miami Beach, Fla, the Dallas Stars poked some fun at Bieber's mugshot.
While playing the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Stars showcased Bieber's newly snapped shot on the scoreboard at the American Airlines Center.
They titled the shot "Maple Leafs Fan," taking shots at their opponents and Bieber's Canadian roots and his well-publicized fond appreciation of the Leafs. Home for the holidays in 2011, Bieber even practiced with his hometown team for the day.
Meanwhile, the Stars' Valeri Nichushkin scored two goals and Jamie Benn notched his 100th career goal and added three assists to lead the Dallas Stars to a 7-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Maybe the mug is magic?
This isn't the first time the Stars have poked fun at celebs and pop culture fixtures either. Last January, they showed a photo of team legend Mike Modano hiosting the Stanley Cup with the phrase, "At least our #9 got the job done," a clear shot at the Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Tony Romo.
During the Mant Te'o saga last year, the team welcomed Te'o's "girlfriend" to the game, panning the camera to, you guessed it, an empty seat.
