Power Rankings: NFC East

In a weekly post, we'll talk about where teams in the NFC East sit after each weekend of play.

1. Dallas Cowboys (1-0) — The Cowboys didn't look sharp on Sunday in their last-second win over the Giants, but there were pretty encouraging signs. Tony Romo was fantastic, and the Cowboys' trio of running backs produced plenty in a timeshare. They lost Dez Bryant for more than a month, which severely cripples them, but they still hold down the top spot for a week. Next up: Sunday, 3:25 p.m., at Philadelphia Eagles.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (0-1) — The Eagles dug themselves an early 20-3 hole on the road at Atlanta before turning on the jets and nearly pulling off a miracle of their own. In the end, they fell short and put themselves in a spot where they could fall two games behind the Cowboys — seemingly their stiffest competition for the NFC East title — just two games into the year. Next up: Sunday, 3:25 p.m., vs. Dallas Cowboys.

3. Washington Redskins (0-1) — Crazy thought here, but the Redskins weren't the worst looking team in Week 1. In fact, they played toe to toe with what is supposed to be a pretty chic pick to make a postseason appearance this year in the Miami Dolphins. Kirk Cousins performed, and running back Alfred Morris did what he does — quietly produce, to the tune of a 100-yard day on the ground. Next up: Sunday, noon, vs. St. Louis Rams.

4. New York Giants (0-1) — True, they almost shocked the Cowboys on the road on Sunday night, but they got a couple of gifts from the Cowboys. Truth is, the Giants defense is terrible, and the Cowboys showed they could take away Odell Beckham Jr. and force other guys to beat them, which they couldn't. Next up: Sunday, noon, vs. Atlanta Falcons.
