Mo Claiborne to Return This Weekend

Claiborne missed the preseason opener with a knee injury

Sidelined with tendinitis in his knee, Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne watched from the sidelines as a patchwork secondary was torched by the Chargers to the tune of 14/16 passing for 243 yards and a touchdown.

If that doesn’t sound bad enough, consider that Chargers quarterbacks didn’t throw an incomplete pass until the fourth quarter, when third stringer Brad Sorensen was in the game.

The good news is that after the 27-7 Cowboys loss, Claiborne said he was feeling good and planned on returning to practice on Saturday. He missed all last week with the knee injury.

"I feel fine," Claiborne said, per ESPN Dallas. "We’ll see Saturday, but I feel fine. I feel like I can pick up where I left off and continue to climb and continue to get better. That’s my goal: to get better each and every day. Every day I hit the practice field I want to be better than my last tape. That’s my goal. That’s my plan, so this Saturday is not going to be no different. I’m going with the same mindset going forward."

Brandon Carr, who also missed the opener and has been away from the team following the passing of his mother, is also expected to return this weekend.
