The Dallas Cowboys’ lengthy list of health concerns got a little lengthier on Monday when receiver Dez Bryant slipped and fell during practice, eventually requiring a trip to the locker room, where Bryant underwent an MRI. Said MRI didn’t show any structural damage, but Bryant does have tendinitis, an injury that Dallas doesn’t believe is that serious.
“It sounds like he’s going to be fine,” owner and general manager Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan FM this week, per the Dallas Morning News. “We’ll see how it works. I would think he’s probably going to be limited this weekend. We were quite relieved that he didn’t have any structural damage there, and that’s a good thing.”
Bryant may not play in the third preseason game against St. Louis this weekend, but Jones isn’t very concerned about the third-year receiver moving forward--and beyond that, he’s less than surprised that Bryant has encountered such an injury, due to his aggressive style of play.
“In a way, it doesn’t surprise me because of how much work he has gotten in,” he said. “I don’t know that I’ve seen anybody have as many reps and make those reps with the intensity and the effort he’s made.
“It just seems like every play he runs out there is a Super Bowl play, which means all-out effort. That’s exciting and it really has us all encouraged. He’s working hard.”
