Jerry Jones: “Larry Allen Represents the Best of the Very Best”

Allen was named a 2013 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee over the weekend

As you may have heard, Cowboys great Larry Allen is Canton-bound.

A member of the NFL’s All-Decade Team for both the 1990s and 2000s, a member of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor,  an 11-time Pro Bowler, seven-time All-Pro selection and Super Bowl XXX champion, Allen was seemingly a no-brainer for induction in his first year of eligibility.

To be sure, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones wasn’t at all surprised when the vote came in.

“Larry is one of the greatest players in Cowboys history, and arguably the very best guard to ever play the game,” Jones said in a statement, per the Dallas Morning News. “He was obviously a special talent, but the fierceness and tenacity that he brought to the field separated him from the rest of the pack. I have never been more proud of anyone who has reached the Pro Football Hall Fame. Larry Allen represents the best of the very best.”
