Cowboysโ third round pick and former Oklahoma Sooners running back DeMarco Murray, like most rookies weโd imagine, is excited to get on the field and begin working toward the 2011 season, whenever that season may start. First, though, he has to find a place to live.
Murray was on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM this week to discuss his draft day, where heโll fit in on a Dallas team with three established running backs, and how he plans on transitioning into a locked out NFL.
The former Sooner said that he planned on joining the teamโs player-organized workout sessions soon, but first, he had to find a residence in the Metroplex.
However, he has received a playbook, courtesy of former Sooner teammate and Cowboysโ receiver Manny Johnson. As for his role in an already-crowded Dallas backfield, Johnson believes things will figure themselves out with time--and, of course, a new collective bargaining agreement.
โIโm just planning to compete,โ Murray said, per ESPN Dallas. โI mean, I know theyโve got Marion [Barber], and Felix [Jones] and Tashard Choice, three guys that have been doing it for a while and have doing a great job there so I definitely plan on learning from those guys and picking their brains a little bit. But at the same time itโs all about competing and getting on the field.โ
