Cowboys Promote CB Deji Olatoye to Active Roster

Olatoye will be the fifth cornerback on the Cowboys' depth chart

After cutting ties with veteran cornerback Corey White on Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys have promoted Deji Olatoye from the practice squad to the active roster, where he’ll take White’s spot.

A second-year pro, Olatoye went undrafted out of North Carolina A&T last year and spent time on the practice squad of both the Ravens and the Chiefs. He was among the Chiefs’ final cuts coming out of training camp this year, was signed to the Cowboys’ practice squad shortly thereafter and has been there ever since.

Olatoye will be the fifth cornerback on the depth chart.

Also on Wednesday, the Cowboys activated rookie linebacker Mark Nzeocha, who began the season on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list, dealing with a knee injury he suffered in his final season at Wyoming. Nzeocha was a seventh round pick of the Cowboys back in May.
