Sha'Carri Richardson finishes ninth in 100m at Prefontaine Classic originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Sha’Carri Richardson made her return to the track for the first time since her 30-day suspension at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday afternoon.
Richardson finished ninth in the women’s 100m, crossing the finish line in 11.14 seconds, behind the trio of Jamaican sprinters who swept the Olympic podium in Tokyo.
It was a repeat of the Tokyo Olympics in Eugene as two-time 100m Olympic gold medalist Elaine Thompson-Herah, Tokyo silver medalist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Tokyo bronze medalist Shericka Jackson once again finished first, second and third respectively in the race.

Thompson-Herah crossed the finish line with a personal-best time of 10.54 seconds. Fraser-Pryce, who held the second-fastest time in the event prior to Tokyo, crossed the finish line in 10.73 seconds and Jackson came in behind her with a time of 10.76 seconds.
Richardson entered Saturday’s race with plenty of hype. She announced her return with a viral TikTok video, lip-singing to a clip of Nicki Minaj and showing the world her makeover for the race.After the race Richardson had a message for her doubters.

"Count me out if you want to. Talk all the s*** you want. Cause I'm here to stay. I'm not done," Richardson said.
The 21-year-old sprinter will compete in the 200m alongside Allyson Felix, Gabby Thomas and Jenna Prandini at 5:45 p.m. ET.
