Jim Carrey Backtracks From Tiger Tweets

Jim Carrey has backtracked from a series of Tweets on Friday on the Tiger Woods scandal, including one message where he suggested Elin Nordegren knew of her husband's many infidelities.

"My people called and said I might have to tame my tweets a little," the actor Tweeted on Saturday after his Tiger posts made headlines. "So here goes…I'm going to make a sandwich now. peanut butter.(sigh)."

Jim went on, however, to make another eye-raising Tweet, referencing the recent trouble surrounding Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was recently accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman in a Georgia bar, something the athlete will not face charges for.

"Well, I ate my inoffensive sandwich with an acceptable glass of milk and took the dogs out, while avoiding any controversial thought," he wrote. "then I was sexually assaulted by Ben Roethlisberger! I can't be certain but it sure looked like him! Good thing I'm a Steelers fan!"

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jim hit his Twitter page on Friday where he defended Tiger, who returned to the course last week professionally to compete in The Masters, the golfer's first tournament since his infidelity scandal broke in November of last year.

"Tiger Woods owes nothing 2 anyone but himself," Jim Tweeted. "2 please his father he gave up his childhood and his freedom in the world. That's enough!"

Jim, who announced last Monday some news of his own – that he and Jenny McCarthy had ended their five-year romance – also shared his opinion about Tiger's wife, Elin.

"No wife is blind enough to miss that much infidelity," he wrote. "Elin had 2 b a willing participant on the ride 4 whatever reason. kids/lifestyle."

Perhaps Jim was a bit out of sorts in the wake of his breakup with Jenny, as he also referenced the Sandra Bullock scandal in a later message, claiming he was a bit on edge.

"So you guys probably don't feel like talkin' about Sandra Bullock, right? I'M KIDDING! JEEEZE! I'm a little on edge. Cut me some slack," he wrote on Saturday.

On Monday, though, Jim had nothing but niceness for the world.

"Today I'm wishing 'great gobbs of goodness' to all those who would DARE to love themselves! Go ahead! I DARE YA!!!" he wrote.
