A woman survived a brutal attack in Cedar Hill Thursday.
Police said the woman was in the process of changing the locks at home in the 300 block of Sims Drive when her ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Kamau Harvey, showed up.
The woman, whose name has not been released, called 911 and told them she was afraid. Officers said then the call was disconnected.
A repairman, who was working on the garage door in the rear of the home, said he heard the woman screaming.
“The only thing I heard her tell him was, 'Why? Just leave me alone, the only thing I asked you to do was leave me alone,'" Lynn said.
Lynn describes what he witnessed: “Saw him pull the gun out. She started running out of the garage screaming -- running down the alley, so I ran around my truck and he was pulling the gun out and as I got to the back of my truck, I heard the first shot go off.”
Kevin Risper lives nearby. He was outside about to mow his lawn when he heard three gunshots. He ran to alley and saw a man and woman on the ground.
