Woman robbed, attacked by men after arriving home, four arrests made

NBC Universal, Inc.

There are new developments in the case of a woman who said she was tied up and beaten inside her Northwest Dallas home. This week, Dallas Police arrested three more men for their part in the alleged aggravated robbery.

The arrests came after an hours-long standoff at an apartment complex on Block Drive in Irving. Dallas Police told NBC 5 Wilmer Gonzalez, Carlos Martinez Silva, and Yean Sanabria were taken into custody in Dallas County.

The arrests were made Thursday following a warrant executed by the Dallas Police Fugitive Unit. Dallas and Irving SWAT were on scene, weapons drawn, before the men were finally detained.

A spokesperson with Immigration and Customs Enforcement told NBC 5 all three men are from Venezuela.

The victim told police that as she pulled into her garage at her home on Elsby Avenue the night of September 21, she was confronted by four men who attacked her as she got out of her car and forced her to the ground at gunpoint.

An arrest affidavit obtained by NBC 5 said the suspects then tied the victim up with clothing from her bedroom before robbing her. One of the men grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to cut off her fingers, she said, while the other three ransacked her home. Police said the men stole cash, a bank card, jewelry and the victim's phone.

Documents said the victim ran to a neighbor’s house once the suspects left. That neighbor told NBC 5 off-camera the woman was visibly shaken, and that many women in the neighborhood have been on edge since then.

As for the apartment complex where three of the four men were taken into custody, neighbors told us off-camera they, too, are now on edge.

Earlier this week, investigators arrested Manuel Hernandez after a fingerprint found at the scene identified him as one of the suspects. Police said investigators learned Hernandez had been in the custody of Colleyville police the day before after being arrested for five Class C violations resulting from a traffic stop. He was released on the morning of Sept. 20 after he signed a promise to appear to settle the citations.

Dallas police tracked down Hernandez, who, at last check, was in the Dallas County Jail being held on a $200,000 bond. In addition to the aggravated robbery charge, he's facing an immigration hold. It's unclear if Hernandez has obtained an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Wilmer Gonzalez and Carlos Martinez Silva are being held on a $200,000 bond. A bond for Yean Sanabria is pending. Authorities say all three men are in the United States illegally.
