Witnesses told police that the driver of the car was racing a motorcycle on eastbound I-20 when the car blew a tire and rolled several times just after midnight Tuesday. The vehicle came to rest in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Texas 161.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were pinned inside.

"I saw sparks coming out, so I knew something bad was about to happen," witness Justin Gill said. "And then I just saw this car flip over about 7 or 8 times."

People who saw the crash stopped to help, using a large bar to pry the car open enough to pull out the man and woman.
