For the past five years, North Texas volunteers have been welcoming home soldiers passing through DFW International Airport.
Many service members are on their way home for two weeks of rest and recuperation. Others are on their way back to the Middle East. One flight arrives every day and one flight leaves.
It's often an emotional time for those who are greeting the troops or saying goodbye.
On any given day, you will find family, friends, veterans and volunteers taking a few minutes out of their day to say 'thank you' to those who are serving this country.
Up to 200 soldiers pass through the airport every day.
The majority of the soldiers are returning from Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
On Tuesday a celebration marking the milestone will be held in Terminal D of the airport.
