Family members ask accused murder to turn himself in

Mansfield police say 29-year-old Anthony Ford is wanted for the murder of 23-year-old Devon De La Rosa, she was found dead inside her home in the 600 block of Kingsway Drive.

Mansfield police are searching for a woman's boyfriend as a suspect in her murder after she was found dead inside the couple's apartment Sunday night.

Police found 23-year-old DeVon De La Rosa dead around 11:10 p.m. Sunday night after family members of the accused killer, 27-year-old Anthony Raymont Ford, called police. Family described Ford as De La Rosa's boyfriend and the father of their son.

Police began looking for Ford early Monday as a person of interest in the homicide. Later Monday, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Ford for a murder charge and set a bond of $100,000.

Ford was last seen driving a black 2004 two-door Pontiac Grand Am GT with Texas license plate CZ8W738 and a missing hub cap. Ford is described by police as a 6-foot, one-inch black male weighing about 165 pounds. A photo of Ford was released by the department and is included above.

Mansfield authorities ask that anyone with information related to the killing or the location of Ford to contact police at 817-473-0211.

According to family members, Ford took his infant son to his mother's home before leaving the area.

His mother, Lisa Ford Russell, urged her son to turn himself in to police on Monday.

"I want him to turn himself in. Anthony, wherever you are, please, please turn yourself in," Russell said.
