UT Austin Parade Canceled in Wake of Charlottesville Violence

The torchlight parade, a University of Texas tradition for decades, has been canceled this year. A Texas Exes alumni group spokeswoman told the Austin American-Statesman the decision was made because “we didn’t think it was wise to have people carrying tiki torches in light of the events at Charlottesville.”
