Investigators said a 49-year-old Plano resident lost control of their vehicle, crashed into a retaining wall and rolled in the northbound HOV lane of U.S. 75 near Spring Valley Road at about 5:30 a.m.

Richardson police said the driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger in that vehicle was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.

Shortly after the crash, a second driver stopped near the scene. His vehicle was struck by a driver who police said they took into custody for driving while intoxicated.
