In a press conference on Tuesday morning, McKinney police released the identities of the two victims 17-year-old Kajarryawn Mack and a 22-year-old Lamarrya Ransem.

McKinney police on Tuesday identified two people killed in a shooting Saturday night as the investigation into the double-murder continues.

During a news conference Tuesday, McKinney Public Information Officer Darryl Saffold identified the victims as 17-year-old Kajarryawn Mack and 22-year-old Lamarrya Ransem.

Saffold did not reveal any further information about the victims, including whether they knew each other or what may have led to the shooting.

Saffold said McKinney police received multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire near Chestnut Street and Colorado Street at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived at the intersection, they found two victims with gunshot wounds being given first aid by citizens.

"We want to take a moment to thank the community members who aided the victims before emergency responders arrived. Your quick actions are deeply appreciated and exemplify the compassion and solidarity of our community," Saffold said Tuesday.

Both men were transported to local hospitals, where they died of their injuries, Saffold said.

Saffold said police made two arrests in the case over the weekend, but they have not released any details about who was arrested or how they are connected to the shooting.

The investigation into the double murder is described as active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the McKinney police tip line at 972-547-3480.
