Landspout Tornado Touches Down In Denton County

NBC DFW viewers have been sending pictures to isee@nbcdfw.com.

So far, no damage or injuries have been reported.

Meteorologists said a cold front moved across North Texas on Saturday. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth said the landspout tornado occured near the front. As soon as the storms produce cold rain at the surface, a landspout tornado will dissipate quickly.

The National Weather Service office also released the following via Twitter:

"LANDSPOUTS WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE WITH NEW STORMS DEVELOPING NEAR
THE COLD FRONT THROUGH SUNSET. IF ANY ADDITIONAL LANDSPOUT
TORNADOES OCCUR...THEY WILL NOT LEAVE THE FRONT. THESE TORNADOES
ARE CERTAINLY NOT TO BE TOYED WITH...BUT THEY ARE GENERALLY NOT
STRONG/POWERFUL CIRCULATIONS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A LOT OF DAMAGE.
IF A LANDSPOUT APPROACHES YOUR LOCATION...WINDS OF 60 TO 100 MPH
ARE POSSIBLE...SO YES...YOU STILL NEED TO TAKE COVER AS THESE
WINDS ARE VERY STRONG. ANY ADDITIONAL LANDSPOUTS SHOULD LAST
APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES OR LESS."
