Move over peanuts and cracker jacks, the Texas Rangers on Thursday unveiled the wild new concessions menu they’ll be serving up at Globe Life Park this season.
Thursday was also a big day for Rangers starting pitcher Derek Holland.
“That was awesome,” said Holland. “I love that.”
After he took to the airwaves to do some lobbying this off season, the Rangers finally added him to their starting lineup – at the concession stands, that is.
“I was jealous of all [the other players’] dishes,” said Holland. “It took me six years to get my food. So I finally made it! We’re here!”
The “Dutch Oven” got to debut his brand new “Holland Hot Tot-chos,” a foot-long plate of spicy tater tots topped with your choice of grilled chicken or steak and peppers. It’s served with a spicy queso hollandaise sauce that comes in a mini dutch oven.
“When you come to the ballpark, you gotta enjoy your food,” said Holland. “This is where it is.”

The latest news from around North Texas.
Holland’s namesake is just one of many crazy concoctions the culinary team at Globe Life Park is rolling out this season.
They say they were inspired by Texas State Fair food and bacon.
“We throw a thousand ideas out there,” said Casey Rapp, operations manager for Delaware North, which provides all food services at Globe Life Park. “Most of them don’t stick, some of them are crazy, and some of them you can’t do. But some of them you can combine together and make something cool.”
Some of the highlights include a double cheeseburger stacked between two grilled cheese sandwiches, deep fried s’mores, chicken fried bacon on a stick, bacon beer, and bacon cotton candy.
“When you come to the game, you want something unique,” said Rapp. “And I think that’s what we provide people.”
All the new items will be available on Opening Day, April 10.
