Texas Firefighters And Officers Remember 9/11 Heroes

343 firefighters and 70 law enforcement officers from across North Texas took part in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Tears and pride were both visible in Downtown Dallas early Saturday morning.

For the third straight year, the first responders climbed the stairs of the Renaissance Tower in Dallas twice in honor of firefighters who died in the World Trade Center Towers during the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

The climb is done in two laps at 54-story Renaissance Tower to symbolize the 110-story climb at the World Trade Center Towers in New York City.

"This is our first time," Annetta Linson with the Dallas County hospital district police department.  "I'm very impressed with the organization."

Christina Rancke, public information officer withthe  Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb said the event rasied more than $70,000 for charities such as the Twin Towers Orphan fund.
