Texas Congressman Marc Veasey says he will be in Washington, D.C. on Friday for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
Veasey is a Democrat that represents parts of Dallas and Tarrant Counties.
Veasey said in a statement that he supports the tradition of a peaceful transfer of power.
He went on to say that his attendance at the inauguration will serve as a reminder to Trump of the co-equal branch of government and that he plans to represent the interest of his constituents.
We previously checked with Veasey on Monday. At that time it was uncertain if he would attend the inauguration.
