The double homicide happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 23

NBC Universal, Inc.

Crime scene tape surrounds an apartment complex where Arlington police said two teenagers were fatally shot Saturday night in the shadow of AT&T Stadium.

Arlington police said officers were called to a shooting at about 10:22 p.m. at an apartment on 600 Slaughter Street and arrived to find two victims, an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man.

Police said witnesses saw a group of people run from the unit after the shooting and speed away in a car. No arrests have been made yet and no suspects have been publicly identified, but police continue investigating.

Tarrant County Medical Examinerโ€™s records have identified the woman as Alexis Tyler. The man's identity has not yet been released to the public.

Investigators learned the man rented the apartment for the weekend on a short-term rental site. The family of one of the victims said a party was being hosted at the apartment.

Tylerโ€™s father posted to Facebook, saying, โ€œMy daughter and her friend were killed in Arlington at a party โ€ฆ This is really hard for my family and Iโ€™m speechless.โ€

Two teens were killed in a shooting at an apartment complex by AT&T Stadium, Arlington Police say. NBC 5's Keenan Willard spoke with neighbors about the incident.ย

Neighbors told NBC 5 there were many short-term rentals in the complex, but they havenโ€™t experienced violence like this in the past.

โ€œJust hearing that it was just right there, itโ€™s kind of a little scary,โ€ said neighbor Melanie Palmer. โ€œItโ€™s kind of scary, just because it was so close to home. Thankfully, I wasnโ€™t home, but I have a daughter. A young daughter.โ€

Neighbors hoped this shooting was an exception, not the new norm for their community.

โ€œThis is a really quiet complex,โ€ said Palmer. โ€œI mean, even with the AirBnbs that we have in the area, thereโ€™s never really any issues, noises, or anything like that.โ€
