Police said they detained a 15-year-old male in connection with the shooting of a 19-year-old male just before a vehicle crash in a Rowlett neighborhood Sunday night. [[427901473,C]]
Rowlett police said they responded to a 911 call about the shooting in the 8200 block of Schrade Road at 8:59 p.m. and found the victim, who had been shot in the neck.
Investigators said the victim was shot while driving and subsequently crashed the vehicle, which rolled over into a front yard.
The suspected shooter ran from the vehicle, according to police, but was found and detained by officers.
Police said the victim was transported to Medical City Plano in unknown condition.
A female in the vehicle was also transported to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to authorities.
