Southwest Airlines and the union representing 9,800 flight attendants announced a new four-year contract on Thursday, ending ten months of negotiations.
Details of the deal will not be released until members of the Transport Workers Union vote on the contract in the next few weeks, but an airline statement said the new contract includes increases in pay and benefits.
"We are pleased with this mutually beneficial contract that delivers enhancements to pay and benefits for our hard working flight attendants," said Daryl Krause, Southwest's senior vice president of customer services.
The new contract will run through May 31, 2012, the company said.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines is the nation's largest airline in terms of domestic passengers.
Meanwhile, Fort Worth-based American Airlines is still negotiating with all three of its labor groups -- pilots, flight attendants and ground workers.
