Brownsville police have arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with a double slaying in the Rio Grande Valley city more than two decades ago.
Police Chief Orlando Rodriguez says Felix Rey Abundez was arrested Thursday by officers assisted by a federal marshal's task force.
Abundez is charged with capital murder for the Nov. 22, 1995, fatal shootings of Dean Martinez, 25, and Adan Montes, 19, outside Martinez's Brownsville home.
The Brownsville Herald reports Martinez's father found the fatally wounded pair on the sidewalk where authorities said the shooting culminated an argument.
Abundez is being held on $3 million bond.
