Sheriff's Department to Investigate Constable Aid Allegations

The investigation of a constable deputy accused of failing to render aid in Monday's drowning death of two children will be sent to the Dallas County Sheriff's Department.

Constable Derrick Evans said it would be best to have an independent third party review the issues.

The mother of the two children said the deputy failed to apprehend the boys' father Monday morning when the woman flagged the deputy down after escaping from the man along Camp Wisdom Road.

Police said the woman and her sons were kidnapped by the man who drowned the boys sometime after the mother escaped. The father, Naim Mohummed, was arrested Monday afternoon.

Visitation for the three and five-year-old boys was held Friday. A funeral is set for Saturday.
