A semitrailer wrecked and caught fire Monday night, closing U.S. 75 in McKinney Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police said the semitrailer had a flat tire, which caused the driver to lose control and crash the truck into a guardrail on southbound U.S. 75 near Wilmeth Road at 10:10 p.m. The collision cracked the truck's fuel tank, which started the fire.

The driver was not injured, according to police.
As of 6:15 a.m., all southbound lanes of U.S. 75 were closed. The southbound service road is open.
At 6:45 a.m., McKinney police said they hope to open the freeway within 30 minutes to one hour.
