Members of the Department of Homeland Security and the Texas Department of Public Safety made a record-breaking drug bust over Memorial Day weekend.
The Houston Money Laundering Initiative seized a record 22,072 pounds of marijuana concealed inside two tanker trucks in El Campo.
One tanker contained 647 bundles weighing 9,422 pounds, and the second truck contained 522 bundles weighing 12,650 pounds.
KTRK-TV in Houston reported that the marijuana is worth $10 million.
Both drivers were arrested and face federal narcotics smuggling charges.
The names of the drivers are currently being withheld.
The investigation into the origin of the drugs is ongoing.
