One of the Texas Rangers' biggest and oldest fans has died.
Elizabeth Sullivan, 106, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 1, her family confirmed to NBC 5.
"Not the reason that I wanted to return to Texas, but will celebrate that she and my Granddad are reunited again, and together in a better place," said Rick Taylor, Sullivan's grandson, who lives in Washington.
The Rangers invited Sullivan to throw out the first pitch before the team's season-opening homestand in April 2016 and Sullivan was thrilled.
"Why would they choose me, who doesn't amount to a hill of beans, while just last year they had a former President of the United States?" she said to NBC 5 back then.
Sullivan was one of the oldest people to ever throw out a Major League first pitch.
Back when Sullivan turned 100, she said she credited her good health to drinking a bottle of Dr Pepper every day.
