A police officer and a suspect in Collin County are injured after a shooting incident early Thursday morning.
A police officer in the Collin County city of Princeton is recovering after a shooting early Thursday morning, police say.
According to the Princeton Police Department, officers were called to an assault at 1610 East Princeton Drive shortly after 3 a.m.
Police said the officer located the person believed to be involved in the assault near Dahlia Way and Princeton Crossroads and that the person attacked the officer with a weapon," leading to both sustaining gunshot wounds."

Both were transported to the hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition, police said.
According to police, the person accused of assault will also face a charge of aggravated assault against a public servant.
The identities of the officer and the person involved in the assault have not yet been released.
